Jamie,
Your lesson is a great developmentally appropriate lesson for kindergarten students. Students would definitely be engaged and enjoy creating a story about how to stay safe if the event of a fire. Students might also enjoy illustrating their story.

Jaime- I think the video would be great for kindergarten. The way the man talks really keeps your attention and they show things little kids can relate to. I think showing the hazards at Christmas time was a great way for the younger kids to make connections. I think students would go home and ask there parents what the fire escape plan was. I also think your extension activities will keep students interested in the topic. Good Job!! Tina
Jamie,
I like your use of this video and I can definitely use it when we talk about fire safety as well. Maybe you could have a fireman come in and help the students with their plans and check them out and let your students read some of their stories to the fireman. I do like the additional activities you have planned for your lesson and I'm sure your students would too. ~ Tauni Lindsey
